Freezing Fog

Although not so fun to drive in, freezing fog is beautiful.
Open drapes, steaming coffee, gorgeous view.

Not so Wordless Wednesday

Wednesday is usually the day I simply post a picture and let you, the reader, add the caption or sentiment.  But today, with the holidays behind us and a brand new year before us, I felt I needed some words.

How many of you are writing "New Years Resolutions"?  And of all those resolutions, how many do you think you will accomplish?

I look at my life as it now, still unemployed, facing the loss of my benefits and realizing my age may be a factor - and I might not get another job.  It's frightening to think of not having an income.  I could "resolve" to get a job - send out more resumes - hone up on my skills - and then, at the end of the year - be depressed by not meeting my resolve.  And this applies to so many other things in our lives - losing weight, quitting smoking, reading more books - and the list goes on.

But this year I'm taking a new approach.  I have a friend who simply chooses a word - one word - that will be representative of the new year.  And when that year is over, she looks back and revels in all the time that word has come to fruition.  Well, this year I choose success - big ones and tiny ones.  And I have a success jar.  Each time I have a success, something that goes beautifully right, I'm writing it down and putting it into my jar.  Then next New Year's Eve I'll read them - and revel in all the times success has come to fruition.

So here's to my successes - big and small - and to you're amazing word of the year.

I'd love to hear what your words will be................
