Today is Bird Day

One of many special days labeled bird day, today was set aside to celebrate all the species of birds from North America. Although I don't have photos of many, here are the few that I have - In celebration of North American Birds!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ride the Wind

Today is National Ride the Wind day. Although this day celebrates the anniversary of the first human powered aircraft to win the Kremer prize, I saw something different in those words - Ride the Wind...  Freedom, peace, joy.

Backyard Birds

It's the time of year I put my bird feeders back out.  I only feed them in the winter when food is not easy to find.  Feeding them otherwise makes them easy prey for predators - they become too reliant on humans to feed them rather than forage as they were intended.  But I love to watch them any time of year!

All of these birds were either in my front or back yard - but I did not feed all of them.....
