Willamette Falls - Oregon City
I took these pictures back in March. These falls are the widest in the American Northwest and are located on the Willamette River in Oregon City, Oregon
I believe this fellow posed for me! |
The next shot was taken last week. I was concerned about why there was no water. The Willamette Falls Legacy project's facebook page explained it this way - "during low water (usually mid July through August), the dam is holding additional water back to ensure fish passage. Once fall rains begin, you will see more water flow over the falls." Makes sense.

Not So Feral Anymore!
One year ago, these two were living in the bushes, foraging for whatever food they could find. Mrs Black started visiting first, and then, Sid. We think they may be mother and son, but you as you can see, they are clearly not feral anymore!! They have found their forever home.

Classic Cars
I love going to car shows - and I love photographing cars from odd angles. Here are a few of the ones I took yesterday -
Any thoughts?

Pioneer Cemetery
I love visiting old cemeteries. There is something peaceful about them. We happened by this one in Canby, Oregon. Most of the headstones were from the 1800s. The most recent was from 1908. Even with such old dates, there were a few that clearly still had visitors.

Waterfalls
Silver Falls State Park |
I love waterfalls - but doesn't everyone? When I photograph them, I like to slow the shutter speed so the movement isn't frozen in time, but slightly blurred and foamy.

I don't use a tripod (although I really should) so keeping everything else in focus isn't always easy. I take many pictures using many settings to get just one shot I like.
And it gets me outdoors, enjoying the fresh air and the view!
